Holy Cannoli! It’s sweets weeks here at Eat Local New York and we are ready to dive in and enjoy our dessert first. If you missed the most recent episode of Hoagie’s Heros you’re going to want to head over and check it out. This week the boys wanted to find out just what it took to make a great Cannoli. The history of the Cannoli dates back to 827 A.D. in the city of Caltanissetta (the City of Women), Sicily, and believed to have either been created by concubines to impress a prince or by nuns who wanted to create a new pastry to celebrate Carnevale (a celebration that takes place before lent).
To Instagram the Hoagie’s boys went to find out who in Syracuse was making the best cannoli's, and these were the results from your votes in the Eat Local New York instagram stories.

Anthony and Zach were ready to dive into Cannoli heaven. First up was Harrison Bakery that pulled a score of 6.6 from Zach and 4.2 from Anthony. Anthony and Zach then moved on to Lyncourt Bakery, it was love at first crunch! Receiving a score of 9.8 from Anthony and 8.8 from Zach, the Hoagie’s boys realized that the filling was more important than they thought, and Lyncourt brought the heat. Last but certainly not least was Biscotti’s cannoli, which came as a close second to Lyncourt but couldn’t quite match up. It pulled in a 7.8 from Zach and a 8.4 from Anthony.
