A Restaurant Dedicated to Garlic
There is a restaurant in where every item on the menu contains garlic. Yes, every menu item has garlic somewhere in the dish.
Angry Garlic in Baldwinsville is a staple in the community and owner Jeff Rogers is someone who always has something happening.
Annual Baldwinsville Dining Weeks
One of the reasons I stopped out to Angry Garlic recently is because they’re entering their 7th year of Baldwinsville Dining Weeks, an event that Jeff Rogers created and coordinates every year.
Baldwinsville Dining Weeks is an annual two-week event where multiple restaurants in Baldwinsville come together to make dining at their restaurant a little more accessible.
This year, 17 restaurants are participating, including longtime favorites and newer additions to the village. The lineup ranges from Angry Garlic to Maydan Café and even takeout staples like China King — a reminder that food culture doesn’t live in just one lane.
Angry Garlic’s approach this year is to rotate menus, offering one set of dishes during week one and a new menu during week two. It’s a smart move. It gives regulars a reason to come back twice and allows the kitchen to stretch just enough without overcomplicating things.
Gnocchi Makes Its Debut at Angry Garlic
The standout in week one is a dish that’s never appeared on the menu before: spinach and parmesan gnocchi.
Imagine a big bowl of gnocchi in a thick sauce of garlic, spinach, cream, and tons of parmesan cheese. This is a thick sauce, it’s not thin and watery…it’s giving thick Mac and cheese vibes for sure.
It arrives as a generous portion, the gnocchi tender and substantial, coated in a sauce that clings instead of pooling.
Why This Dish Feels Like Winter Comfort Food
This is not a light dish. It’s not subtle. It’s the kind of meal that makes sense on a cold Central New York night when you want something filling and familiar, but still thoughtfully prepared.
The garlic is present without being harsh. The spinach adds balance. The Parmesan brings depth. It’s indulgent in a way that feels earned.
Is it a first-date dish? Probably not. Is it deeply satisfying? Absolutely.
Why Garlic-Forward Cooking Works Here
What Angry Garlic understands is that committing to a point of view matters. Garlic isn’t a gimmick here — it’s the backbone. That consistency builds trust. Diners know what they’re getting, and the kitchen knows exactly what it wants to deliver.
In a dining landscape where menus often try to be everything at once, there’s something refreshing about a restaurant that knows its lane and stays in it.
