Whether they have year-round decks or put up new dining sets during the summer, each restaurant has their own style of outdoor eating areas. Concrete slabs in downtown Syracuse, wooden decks along Oneida Lake, and stone patios in the suburbs provide the perfect respite from a busy summer day.

With warmer weather, there’s one thing on everyone’s mind: where can I eat outside in Syracuse? Whether they have year-round decks or put up new dining sets during the summer, each restaurant has their own style of outdoor eating areas. Concrete slabs in downtown Syracuse, wooden decks along Oneida Lake, and stone patios in the suburbs provide the perfect respite from a busy summer day.

Bull & Bear Roadhouse – East Syracuse, Fayetteville, Liverpool

Nothing says summer more than eating a burger outside on a hot day. And you can do exactly that at all three of Bull & Bear’s locations.

Brewster Inn – Cazenovia

While Brewster Inn features a beautiful bar inside, the outdoor patio is equally desirable. Guests can enjoy the views of Cazenovia Lake while dining on their meals.

The Cider Mill – Syracuse

One of the best restaurants in the Syracuse area also has one of the best outside dining areas. When the weather cooperates, guests at The Cider Mill can request a table outside next to the stone fire pits.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que – Syracuse

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is so popular that people start using the picnic tables out front before it’s truly warm enough to enjoy the weather outside. But once the season officially starts, the Boneyard is open for dining. We promise it’s the best smelling outdoor dining area in Syracuse.

Eva’s European Sweets – Solvay

Eva’s has a very cozy dining space indoors, but once the sun comes out, guests can enjoy the colorful outdoor patio. Featuring a new mural from Colello Creations, Eva’s outdoor spot is a great place to enjoy a Polish dinner.

Francesca’s Cucina – Syracuse

At the downtown location, Francesca’s courtyard is probably the most magical place to eat outside in Syracuse. That being said, reservations for the courtyard go quickly! Plan ahead.

Heritage Hill Brewhouse – Pompey

Located outside the city, Heritage Hill’s massive outdoor seating area and beautiful views make it worth the drive. Add in great beer and delicious barbecue food and you’ve got yourself a great night.

Jake Hafner’s – North Syracuse

The back deck at Hafner’s is a popular spot as soon as the temps go up. The deck is large, with several tables for multiple parties. Fans and umbrellas help keep you cool during the hottest days.

Limp Lizard – Liverpool, North Syracuse, Syracuse

All three of the Limp Lizard locations offer outside dining options. The North Syracuse location remains counter service only, but the other two spots have full service outside in the sun.

Modern Malt – Syracuse

Modern Malt’s downtown location has a small outdoor seating area in the spacious alley next to the restaurant. With full service, it’s a great spot to eat on a warm summer day.

Peacock Bar & Grill – Cicero

Fancy drinks on the patio? Who doesn’t think that’s a great idea? Luckily, Peacock has you covered with a great outside dining area.

Scenic Root – Manlius

Located next to the swan pond in Manlius, the outdoor patio at Scenic Root lives up to its name with its scenic view. Enjoy your dinner of delicious comfort food while watching the swans swim nearby.

Stone’s Lakeside – Cicero

Formerly Borio’s, Stone’s took over the great location on the southern shores of Oneida Lake. The multi-leveled deck with the outside bar is one of the most popular outdoor dining spots in Central New York.

Vicino’s Brick & Brew – North Syracuse

Brick and Brew has one of the prettiest patios around, featuring string lights and live music. So while the inside is on the smaller side, the outdoor space doubles the capacity.

The Waterfront – Brewerton

With one of the biggest decks in Central New York, The Waterfront is a popular summer spot. Especially because you can dock your boat right next to the restaurant along the Oneida River.

We know, we know. There are other places with outdoor seating. Most of the restaurants put a few small tables outside near the sidewalk as temporary seating.
