Some pizza places try to be everything. Brickhouse Pizza doesn’t need to. It just needs to be exactly what it is — a locally owned joint with a personality and a kitchen that knows what it’s doing.

Some pizza places try to be everything. Brickhouse Pizza doesn’t need to. It just needs to be exactly what it is — a locally owned joint with a personality and a kitchen that knows what it’s doing.

I stopped in during my trip to Tioga County, a visit made possible by Experience Tioga, and my first meal set the tone for the whole trip. I ordered the Hot Farmer pizza, and it delivered exactly what the name implies. It’s bold, it’s got heat, and it’s got character. The kind of pizza you remember when you’re back home and craving something with a little guts to it.

This is the kind of local spot that makes a community feel like itself. No chains. No corporate formula. Just good people making food they’re proud of.

Brickhouse Pizza is one of the participating restaurants in Eat Local New York Restaurant Week presented by Summit Federal Credit Union. If you’re in the area — or looking for a reason to make the drive — this is a solid place to start.

A huge thank you to Experience Tioga for bringing me down to explore everything this region has to offer, and to The Summit Federal Credit Union for sponsoring Eat Local New York Restaurant Week (April 13–26, 2026). If you haven’t checked out the participating restaurants yet, head to our Restaurant Week page to find a spot near you.
