They feel like you stumbled into the right place at the right time and decided to stay. That’s what Owego Brewing Company felt like.
I ended up here toward the end of my trip to Tioga County, which was put together by Experience Tioga, and it was a good way to wrap things up. I tried their Maple Pecan Porter, Brown Ale and Root Beer — all made right there, the way it should be — and ordered the pretzel which came with three dipping sauces.
The pretzel is worth mentioning on its own. It’s baked in-house, made from scratch, and it’s the kind of thing that makes you realize how different a real pretzel is from everything else you’ve been calling a pretzel. Thick, warm, the right amount of chew. It belongs with the beer.
Owego Brewing Company has the atmosphere of a place that’s earned its regulars — comfortable, unpretentious, and genuinely good. It’s participating in Eat Local New York Restaurant Week presented by Summit Federal Credit Union, so there’s no better time to make your first visit.
A huge thank you to Experience Tioga for bringing me down to explore everything this region has to offer, and to The Summit Federal Credit Union for sponsoring Eat Local New York Restaurant Week (April 13–26, 2026). If you haven’t checked out the participating restaurants yet, head to our Restaurant Week page to find a spot near you.
