I absolutely love going out and enjoying a nice cocktail. Rebecca and I just returned home from a weekend in Iowa (yes, Iowa) and the hotel bar where we were staying had a small, but very good cocktail menu and I may have enjoyed one-too-many Manhattans on Friday night.
As much as I enjoy a cocktail when out to dinner or at a bar, I admittedly am usually a terrible “mixologist” when it comes to making drinks for myself to enjoy at home.
But thanks to the opportunity from Red Jacket, I sat down and took the time to make some very good cocktail recipes using Red Jacket fresh pressed juices.
Last week I shared my Fuji-Apple Sour and this week I’m making a drink I am calling the “Vodka Grapple”.
Here’s the recipe:
Using a stirring crystal with ice
Add 2 Ounces of Vodka,
Add 2 Ounces of Red Jacket Grape-Apple Juice,
Add 1/2 Ounce of fresh lime juice,
And stir thoroughly,
Then strain into a glass with ice,
Top with Ginger Ale,
And add a garnish, we chose a simple lime wheel.
This is a very simple drink to make at home on a weeknight or during a backyard hang with your friends.
I love making these cocktails because it helps to utilize some of the wonderful and high-quality products from right in our backyard. Red Jacket Orchards is located right in Geneva, New York running their family farm for over 50 years.
They create some wonderful cold-pressed juices with simple ingredients that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
